Namibia!

I'm happy to inform everyone that my travels have been fantastic. I took a nice overnight bus to Windhoek 4 days ago. We stayed in Windhoek from 6:00am to 8:00pm and walked around all day enjoying the city. This place is so odd- very obviously influenced by the Germans- and the architecture made me feel like I was in Europe. That night I took an overnight train to Swakopmund. I've had such a great time here with so many fun activities. The town is also very German in design and is situated next to beautiful sand dunes and the ocean. Over the course of 3 days I went ATV riding on the dunes, sandboarding (standing up and laying down), and sky diving. Unbelieveably thrilling. I could go on forever about each of these activities but there is just not enough time. Tomorrow I hope to do an activity on the water if its possible- checking out the populations of flamingos and seals would be great. I wish everyone was here to enjoy this with me. Feel free to ask any questions about my trip so far, I would be delighted to share :)

  1. Wow! Wow! and more Wow! Excitement here is picking dandelions, mowing the lawn (hand mower, we're green!) - but's it's so exciting to live vicariously reading all the really fascinating activities you're doing every day. Bet you are having even more excitement than you'd even thought possible when you signed up for it. Will be looking forward to seeing our world traveler and all your pictures and hearing firsthand of your months in Africa. Love and hugs from your Elmwood Park relatives.
